South Carolina’s Newest Digital Newspaper
Welcome to The Palmetto Press! With unlimited access to knowledge, today’s news media can feel overwhelming, making quick and direct information feel like a sigh of relief. The Palmetto Press is a new digital newspaper with contributions from the Charter Institute at Erskine Charter School Student Ambassadors. Focused primarily on education news, TPP will give community members the opportunity to view the world of education from a student’s perspective.
Researched, written, and published by South Carolina students themselves, TPP articles will provide direct insight into South Carolina’s educational landscape. Our mission: to unlock a deeper understanding of education, coming straight from those it impacts the most.

In today’s ever-changing world, focusing on crucial topics such as education and school choice allows for growth in every aspect of one’s educational career and mindset. After all, the future of the world lies in the hands of the next generation – the children of our state, country, and world. Hearing directly from students will not only ensure accurate portrayals of the true impact of education and school choice, but also provides an opportunity for the Ambassadors as young leaders to try new things, improve communication skills, and gain job experience. Despite coming from all different types of schools and backgrounds, The Palmetto Press staff is working towards one common goal – we are here to chronicle the world of education, and we cannot wait to have you along for the journey.
